Janet and Ron’s Farewell
Dear Friends,
It astonishes me that it is already time to be writing a farewell note to you. How this year together has flown! Ron and I treasure the times we’ve had here at Redeemer, and are grateful for all the love and support you have given to us. Just think-- we have been together through Ron’s trips with Living Water to Guatemala and El Salvador, and to Haiti! Many of you have traveled, too, and other major events have occurred including making your Cursillo weekend; searching for a new Bishop; births of grandchildren and adoptions of little ones; surgeries, health problems, healings; the sorrows and joys that make our lives full and keep us ever-mindful of both our need for God and the Goodness of God—all of these have been part of our year together, and I give thanks for them!
I am particularly grateful for the support you have given to me as a seminarian learning to share in leading worship. I have loved the chance to preach and to talk with you after my sermons-- to hear what you have thought, and felt, and responded to. You have been so insightful and helpful, and I have learned and grown much from your comments and willingness to share them. Ron and I feel truly blessed to have been so embraced and cared for by you all. We return the love to you, and can tell you without doubt that you are in our hearts forever. We love you and will always remember our time with you with great joy and thanksgiving. For this year, we say, Thanks be to God!
Let us go forth to love and serve the Lord. Alleluia, Alleluia!
