NEWS FROM THE PEWS
Julie Jensen, our former deacon, sent an e-mail
with the following news:
Chuck and I have bought a house near to the one
that we found on Craig's List and in a
neighborhood we love. I am SO happy at St. John
the Baptist with Robert Bryant who was at Our
Saviour in Mill Valley, and his associate, Julie
Smith, who graduated from CDSP in 2000, so we
have may mutual friends. Robert is one of those
unique individuals who is so secure in his own
skin and so appreciative of what others do that it
would be difficult to not be happy serving with
him. Jan Heglund, his deacon in Marin, said she
and Robert were comfortable with one another
immediately. Well, I'm not surprised.
He, Julie, and I work so well together. I have
learned that how one "does church" isn't so
important as how the team works together. Robert
loves high church, and I often wear a dalmatic and
cense the gospel. I swore I'd never do either of
those things! I have preached with the bishop on
Good Friday, sung the Exsultet at Easter Vigil
when the bishop was presiding and have become a
part of a loving parish.
The difference from Redeemer? just that this is a
larger and more active parish - the love at
Redeemer was the same. I'm truly thankful that I
landed where I am in Portland. Love to everyone!
Sue and Nick Clark welcomed their new grandson,
Camden, in July.
