We’re gearing up for the seventh annual Kids’ Karnival on Saturday, September 24
, from Noon to 6 p.m. There will
be games, prizes, food, fun and of course a few surprises! This year Kids’ Karnival will feature a 25 foot Giant Shark
Adventure Slide and Jurassic Adventure, a 30’ x 35’ dinosaur bone yard, complete with a raging volcano and two 10
foot slides, that holds 15 to 20 people at a time! There will also be a jump just for our littlest ones and a 24 foot Rock
Climbing Wall. It’s going to be our biggest and best Kids’ Karnival yet! It will be a great day of fun, fundraising and
just hanging out with friends and neighbors. We will again be grilling juicy burgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs
and don’t forget to enjoy a nice glass of wine or icy cold beer from the tap, while you’re at it!
The Steering Committee has lots of great ideas and plenty of enthusiasm, but we still need your help. We are again
asking for sponsorships of the games, prizes, food, and rental items. We also need plenty of volunteers. Last year, in
an attempt to simplify the staffing process, we asked individuals to Adopt a Booth to staff for the day.
It was a great success so we’re doing it again this year. In order to Adopt A Booth, an adult must be responsible for
setting up the booth at 11:30 a.m. arranging for 4 to 5 people to staff it for the day, overseeing it’s smooth running
and packing it up at 6:00 p.m. This way you can work with your family and friends and have a great time while help-
ing the Church to raise the funds needed to close the $15,000 gap in our operating expenses for this year.
We are also looking for individuals to work shifts, as well. As always, kids are welcome to help. Middle school and
High School students can work alone. Those younger must work with a parent. Those students needing community
service hours can fulfill them at the Karnival while having a great time with their friends. (Remember, we give
double hours for clean-up!) If you’d like to volunteer, sign up at Church or call Eileen Erler at 456-7255.
So mark your calendars and tell your neighbors and friends to come and be a part of the Seventh Annual Kids’
Karnival!
