Senior Warden’s Letter
As we hear the words "Stewardship" and "Pledge
Campaign" it seems appropriate to discuss what
this means.  That is, what it means beyond the
need for parishioners to supply money to fund the
staff and programs of Redeemer.

In the Christian sense, a steward is the manager of
the affairs of God on earth. God has given us all
abilities and talents that are unique. Everything we
have - life, time, health, relationships, talents,
property, environment,  the Gospel - is given to
each of us by God. Each of us is steward of our
own life and time and we are called to use each
wisely every day with responsibility and respect.

At this time of year during, our pledge campaign,
we are each asked to consider the stewardship of
our worldly property. Giving back to the church
what we have been given by God can be seen as a
symbolic act of offering ourselves in service and
devotion to God. Giving is a practical matter also,
because our offerings make it possible for
Redeemer to be here for you and for me and to
pay its bills and carry out its mission.
In love and thanks for all that I have been given,
Sue Clark, Sr. Warden (454-4115)

CONGREGATIONAL CYCLE OF PRAYER
:
Each week in the liturgy, our congregation prays
for the concerns that weigh on our hearts, and
gives thanks for our blessings. Part of our litur-
gical prayer has been included in the newsletter in
the form of a weekly "Congregational Cycle of
Prayer." Beginning in November, I would like to
propose a different way of praying for one
another.
Rather than decide for myself what ministry,
person, or group of people we should pray for
each week, I would like to invite you, the
Redeemer community, to send me your prayers by
email, fax, phone, or Pony Express. I will include
whatever prayers I receive in my practice of daily
prayer, and also compile a list of prayers to be
included in the newsletter, and in the weekly
liturgy. As well, you may find yourself receiving
requests for prayer in my weekly emails.
If you have something you want us all to be
praying for, please contact me at the office and let
me know what it is. The phone number is
456-0508, and the email is
You can let me know whether you want these
prayers to remain part of my own daily practice, or
if you would like them to be shared with the
community.
