BUILDING THE BELOVED COMMUNITY
:
Gather your companions in ministry—lay and
ordained—to worship, learn and dream the
Christian community we are building. The 2007
Visioning Conference is your opportunity to play an
integral part in the strategic planning process for the
Diocese of California, which integrates Christian
faith with practices of justice for humanity and the
earth.
This is a day for big dreams. In the morning, Bishop
Marc Andrus will set the stage for the day, and we
will have a chance to use and reflect on the new
planning methods in small groups. In the afternoon
the whole Cathedral Close will be our canvas for
interpreting our dreams for the diocese in word,
music, artwork, dance, walking the labyrinth or
contemplative prayer.
All day long, enjoy the music of Jesse Manibusan
and the artwork of the Keiskamma altarpiece.
Ministry opportunities for children and youth will
be integrated throughout the program. So bring a
congregational team—your own Christian
community of all ages and stages—and prepare to
be renewed in mind and ministry.
