NEWS FROM THE PEWS
Ann and Steve Zolezzi are planning a wonderful 3+
week safari trip to Kenya and Tanzania in August.
Friday, the 29th of June, Wayne and Cathy Kirk are
off to Rev. Carols beloved Alaska with stays at
Denali National Park, and a 4th of July barbeque at a
gold mine on the Katmai Peninsula. In August they
will return to South Africa where Wayne has several
meetings, then to Kruger Natl Park for a 3-day
safari.
Pat Eyster e-mailed, I leave for Europe on July 1
and return July 24. We are taking the other end of the
river cruise David and I took from Amsterdam to
Vienna. Now my friend and I are flying to Bucharest
and going up the Danube from the Black Sea,
stopping in places I can't pronounce and ending with
4 days in Prague. This will be my first trip without
David to carry my bags, so I intend to look helpless
with the luggage. (Maybe I will learn to pack lighter
ha!) As soon as life here settles down Cairo and I
will be back for a visit.
Sue and Nick Clark are eagerly awaiting the birth of
their daughter Carolines 2nd child in August.
And Cindy and Bud Smiths daughter, Erica, is
expecting twins this fall!
Send me your gossip and news, folks!

LOOKING AHEAD
FALL FAITH FORMATION
Opportunities for Children and Adults
The Church makes a distinction between
education and formation. Education is what I
know. Formation describes who I am, where I am
grounded, what I mean. Education measures and
strives for success. Formation asks what it really
means to be successful. Education sets standards and
rules. Formation gives me the freedom and the skills
to reflect upon those standards and rules and to work
with them for the good of myself and others.
Everything is a gift from God and everything can be
used and given to the good. But until our hearts are
awakened, we will only see the good through a glass
darkly. To that end, Redeemer invites all its
members, young and old to a time of formation and
reflection.
STARTING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14:
The Way of the Child
For grades 4-6, in which you will learn how to talk to
the Universe and how to listen to its Song. We will
focus on three things: Quiet, Imagination and
Respect. Children will learn to meditate, to create
stories and works of art, to reverence all creation and
one another. We will create a community in which
our own unique gifts can be nurtured and fully given.
Space is limited and calendars even more so. Please
register now. Meets Friday afternoons, 3:30 4:30.
Cost is $75 per child which will make possible the
purchase of materials.
After the first session, all are invited to dinner with
Rev. Carol. 6th graders will join with other young
people in the first Floating Friday of the School Year.
For Adults: Companions in Christ

the spiritual journey. The small group meets once a

journal of reflection and reading short passages of
scripture and tradition
.
This is an amazing course
which engages mind, heart and spirit.
Begins at Wednesday Bible Study on September 12th.
If there is interest, a second session can be arranged,
either in the evening or on Saturday or Sunday.
Cost is for materials, approximately $9.00 per
module for those who wish to do a partial series, or
$29 for the single volume participants book and
journal.
