A REPORT FROM Mary Sparks:
Town Hall Meeting Follow-up
On January 14, a group of parishioners who volun-
teered at the Town Hall meeting met to discuss how
to proceed with the two goals that came out of that
meeting: To grow our attendance and to grow our
facility. Two committees were formed who will
serve for at least the next year.
The Growth Committee has the goal of growing our
numbers. They will be looking at immediate and
long-term plans to reach that goal. They are led by
Kim Johnson, who will also serve as the commit-
tee’s liaison to the Bishop’s Committee. Committee
members include Liz Chiarolla, Jay Luther, Gail
Spencer, and Laura Scubecz.
The Facilities Committee will be looking for ways to
expand our space. Their first step is to interview
other churches which have recently built or added
on, to get their perspective on how to proceed. This
committee will look at a variety of ways to grow our
space, as well as look at funding issues. Nancy
Ware leads this committee and the BC liaison will
be Mary Sparks. Committee members include
Victor Chiarolla, Jay Luther, Sallie Wood, Cindy
Poulos and Billie Barbash. Its next scheduled
meeting is Monday, February 12 at 7 pm at the
church.
Elise and Brian Rankin will be joining these
committees later this month and additional members
will be welcome. There’s lots of work to do and we
will need help from others in the congregation as we
get closer to putting plans into action.
