WEDNESDAY’S WOMEN’S BOOKCLUB
The hostess provides drinks and dessert.
Attendees should bring a sandwich and 
RSVP to the hostess each month.
We are not meeting in February, but get ready for   
March and April!

This is a community based speaker series featuring
local concerns. Everyone is invited and welcome!
Programs last an hour and coffee and refreshments
will be served.
Wednesday, March 7th, 7 pm:
     Reduce, reuse, recycle: An evening with Joe
Garbarino, founder of the award winning Marin 
Recycling Center.
Wednesday, March 14th, 7 pm:
     Greening your home with environmental engineer
Mary Bryan. Simple things with surprising impact
that you can do right now.
Wednesday, March 21st
, 7pm:
     Restoring our rivers and creeks, speaker TBA.
And the Final New Life After Easter Day
Saturday, April 14th, 9 – 1:
Community emergency preparedness day led by our 
extraordinary team of firefighters, John Chung, 
Rudy Erler and Bruce Samson.
FIFTEEN LENTEN THINGS YOU CAN DO 
TO LIVE BOTH RICHLY AND LIGHTLY:
1.
Shop at the Farmers’ Market: Enjoy fresh,         
local food without chemicals;
2.
Give your car a Sabbath rest every week;
3.
Start a prayer practice;
4.
Do a forty day vegetarian feast for Lent;
5.
Be a Burning Bush and don’t consume: try
to go forty days without buying any stuff;
6.
Broaden your perspective: make friends
with someone in your neighborhood;
7.
Do your errands with a friend;
8.
Trade one auto-intensive activity for a
family walk by the bay;
9.
Resign from one committee that you have
to drive miles to get to;
10.
Volunteer at the Humane Society and fall in
love with non-human life;
11.
Share a newspaper or magazine
subscription with friends: save paper;
12.
Save even more paper and get your books
from the library;
13.
Drink shade grown fair trade coffee or a
locally grown tea;
14.
Walk, bicycle or use public transportation
to get to work;
15.
Get new clothes the easy and sustainable
way: trade with a friend!
