Greetings and Love, and May the Blessings of the Season be with you!
Ron and I are so very happy to be with you, and share the immense love and compassion for the world and its
people that you model so generously. We take your love and prayers and concern for those in need wherever we
gothank you! In November, Ron went on a water drilling trip to El Salvador; and from January 12-24, 2006, Ron
and I will go together to Petit trou de Nippes, in Haiti, God willing. Those of you who were at the 10:30 service
on September 18- for my first sermon here at Redeemer!- heard me speak about the conditions in Haiti. The
people live in abject poverty that is hard to imagine without seeing it. But in the midst of the poverty, sickness
and hunger, there is love, and joy and even hopeit is there in the love of Christ Jesus as He brings His people
together in service and worship.
We will be going to Petit trou as part of a medical team that will provide both medical care and supplies to over a
thousand people in one week. The people in Petit trou do not have access to doctors, or medical supplies, and
most of the people are too poor to travel. Our team therefore helps to fulfill not only the need for material
supplies and help, but also for fellowship in the Lord. We will work, sing, pray and glorify God together, and we
will all experience the true joy of being One Body in Christ. Hallelujah!
We look forward to bringing back pictures and stories from the trip, and sharing as much of the trip as we can
with you. For those of you who read Tracy Kidders book, Mountains Beyond Mountains you know already the
reasons that we are happy to go, and also happy to get back to running water, clean clothes, and the conveniences
of life here at home. And no matter what happens, we will have lots to talk about!
Id like to end with a Haitian prayer for the New Yearwe could say it every day, and still we would not have said
it too many times!
Lord,
We dont get mangos from an avocado tree,
and we dont get corn from the banana plant.
We produce what we are.
Help us to be what you need produced.
May the Lord bless you and keep you in His perfect peace,
Janet Fullmer
