Redeemer Review
Wednesday Bible Study 11-12
FROM THE SENIOR WARDEN
My Dear Redeemer Family,
This is my last Senior Warden letter. It has been a good year at Redeemer.
Rev. Carols boundless energy has led us through Bible Study, Book Group, Lunch Bunch, Through the Wardrobe,
Moms in Motion, Floating Fridays, Wild Caribou, Dream Groups, Wizards and Wonders, Womens Spirituality,
Camp Hogwarts and countless other activities. Redeemer is alive and thriving on the flurry of activities taking
place here. Weve certainly come a long way from the days of worshiping and taking care of the Church in very
small intimate groups.
Financially, weve thrived, too. This year, we had a larger budget, than wed ever dreamed of having ($137,000)
and somehow, between Pledges, Plate, fundraisers and generous gifts of stocks and cash, we were able to end
the year solidly in the black. We have increased our numbers at both the Kids Church and 10:30 Services, as well
as starting a successful Service of Contemplative Healing on Sunday afternoons. Its been a very good year for
Redeemer.
It has been a good year for me personally, as well. Redeemer has taken good care of me, both when we were so
worried about Stevies health and when I had my shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff. So many kind people
brought us meals and prayed for and with us. It truly touched all of our hearts. In addition, it has been an honor
and a pleasure to serve as Rev. Carols Senior Warden. Her energy, wit and enormous heart have made her a de-
light to work with. As I leave the Bishops Committee, I hope that others will step up to the challenge of guarding
and caring for our Redeemer Family. If you are approached, and asked to consider serving a term on the Bishops
Committee, I hope you will feel honored for being asked. It is because you and your skills have been admired and
highly valued by the nominating committee. I know from my years of experience on the Bishops Committee, that
if you accept the challenge, you will grow in your love of God and our Redeemer Community.
Peace and Love,
Billie Barbash
